We are exactly one month away today from the release of the new Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4. This year’s game is published by Activision and is developed by Treyarch and Beenox. When it was first announced back in March 8th of this year, many people wondered if the franchise would have, like every other version of Black Ops, a campaign story, but surprisingly, Activision have chosen to focus solely on multiplayer and their highly anticipated zombies mode. The game will be released on the original gaming platforms PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows, but this time around, it was announced that CoD:BO4 will also be partnering up with Blizzard Entertainment, so all current users of the Battle.net will be able to play it via the desktop app on their PC’S and laptops. Blizzard already has a spot for one Activision game on the Battle.net desktop app, which is Destiny 2.
Earlier last week, another feature was also announced that will be added to the CoD:BO4: a new game mode called “Blackout” which can be played solo or with friends. The objective is to eliminate all the other players (or teams depending on which you prefer to play), and be the last one standing, but every few minutes the area around you will shrink and you will hear a voice saying that you need to get inside the safe zone – imagine Fortnite, but with a twist.
Finally, we have the well-loved mode, zombies. You’ll have the chance to be any of the four following characters: Scarlett Rhodes, Diego Necalli, Bruno Delacroix and Stanton Shaw. You are in the search for Scarlett’s father who has gone missing, but with the help of the others you search the ship from top to bottom yet with no luck. But wait! You suddenly come across a mysterious staff! You use the staff and BOOM you are in another time. Travelling around to find her father whilst surviving the zombie onslaught, will you make it out alive?
If you have pre-ordered on PC, you can play the private beta on Friday 14th of September, where you can try out the newly announced Blackout mode. But not to worry, you only have a month to wait until you can have access to it all… but I cannot simply wait that long! Private beta here I come.
